Core and Cardio

I managed to pull off a two gym session day today - everyone should be impressed! I did 40 brutal minutes on the AMT and then returned in the afternoon for a core strengthening workout with the boyfriend.

Food was pretty awesome today! For lunch I made a scallop salad - pan fried scallops with red and orange peppers and green onions that were sauteed in soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce then tossed in mixed greens and a mayo based dressing with syracha, salt and pepper. Dinner was something similar - chicken that had been marinated in soy sauce, Worcestershire and syracha; stir fried veggies and a small portion of rice. Dessert? Pomegranate! A very yummy food day.

Tomorrow we will see if I can pull off a double cardio day or not!

Chest, Triceps and Shoulders

Today gets a big yawn.

In Tom Venuto's e-book Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle he explains the different body types. Ectomorph (those skinny people with high metabolism), Mesomorph (natural athletes) and Endomorph (people who have a higher body fat who have problems losing fat). He goes through strategies on how to eat, train, live.. I'm quite obviously an endomorph whereas the boyfriend has a lot of mesomorph characteristics. We clash. Whereas he wants to go workout all the time, it takes me so much willpower just to get out of bed in the morning. And we're not even talking about working out, just getting out of bed.

I didn't get to my two rounds of gym today - life was just too busy. However, I had a solid day doing weights and a pretty okay day eating. I made a perfect scallop dinner; with pan fried scallops, sweet potatoes and cucumbers, tomatoes and onion. It was really good.

I'll try for the second session tomorrow.

Legs and Cardio

Today I started fresh with a new routine. I'm tired of not seeing results on the scale and on the tape measure. I'm using Tom Venuto's strategy and training for my body type. For me, tragically, this means I have to lots and lots of cardio. So, I'm going to try to do two gym sessions a day. One for cardio and one for weight training. I know I won't be able to do it 7 days a week, but if I can do it 4 times a week - it's something!

Today I did 30 minutes of tredmill work and did a solid leg workout in the evening. I managed to do a 300lb leg press for 2 sets of 12 which is my all time high and I increased in my leg extension. I still struggle with my hips and hamstrings though.

Cardio

This week is going to be pretty light on gym time due to me cramming for my French exams. It's probably a good thing, it lets my body rest and makes me think of how to refresh my gym routine. Do I want to add in some soccer specific training? Do I want to keep it heavy weights as it is now? Interesting questions...

I ate another cinnamon bun today. I need to get some fruit or something so that I can eat that instead of the cinnamon bun. BAH!

Soccer

The brutal week continues!

I meant to get some decent sleep last night but was unsuccessful. Ultimately I slept in late, did not study for my French oral exam in the morning before work like I wanted to and went to my all day meeting a little grumpy.

Highlight though, I did get to study after dinner a little and I did get to go to soccer! I'm getting better at this wonderful game, but I'm still quite obviously the teams worst player. After my French exams are done I'm going to spend some time researching the game online and really putting myself out there in the games. How did we do tonight? WE WON!! We are 2-0 so far and hope to keep winning!

Unscheduled Day Off

Today was a brutal start to a tough week.

I've been having brutal nights with almost no sleep. I toss and turn while my boyfriend peacefully sleeps - how frustrating! This is my third night with insufficient sleep - hopefully I'll make up for it tonight.

Eating today was poor. I knew it was going to be bad when I opted away from my usual protein shake and Fiber One meal and had a bagel with peanut butter. I'm lying a little bit, eating wasn't BAD it was just highly irregular and made my stomach feel bad. I ate a lot of carbs and my stomach did not like that. Yes, the cinnamon bun looks good but will ultimately make me feel bloated.

Christmas trees arrived today - another 1,200 offloaded and my shoulders and triceps are DESTROYED. Only four more shipments.

Finally.. Due to all of the above I couldn't get my bum to the gym before French class and class ran long so I did not end up meeting with the boyfriend for my Monday night workout. Unfortunately, looking in the near future with my looming French exams I might miss a few more gym dates. Again, not a big deal but for the perfectionist inside me I am freaking out a little. For those days I have to try to maintain a perfect diet otherwise my frustrating level will just be through the roof!
